Whether you are looking to visit a new city, or plan a vacation for family and friends, there are a few places in the U.S. you should consider this March.

St. Louis

Located on the banks of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, St. Louis is a historic, culturally-rich, and surprisingly affordable city to visit. There are plenty of things to do, a variety of cuisine, and the city is navigable for those who don’t own a car.

The Gateway Arch is one of the tallest monuments in the world and it is one of St. Louis’s iconic landmarks. The Arch is 630 feet tall, making it the tallest man-made structure in the United States. It was designed by architect Eero Saarinen.

The Gateway Arch is a fabulous point from which to view the city. It is accessible by an enclosed tram, which takes four minutes to get to the top. The Observation Deck, which is on the top of the Arch, offers views of the city in all directions. Visitors can stay on the deck as long as they like.

The best part about the Gateway Arch is that it’s free to visit. Located next to the Arch is a small green space called Gateway Arch National Park.

The Museum of Transportation has more than 300 moving vehicles on display, including locomotives, streetcars, and automobiles. Its interactive exhibits include a dark sky planetarium show and the Boeing Space Station.

The Stout and Oyster Festival is a free event. It features live blues music, food, and other fun attractions. The festival is held on March 26th from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

St. John in the US Virgin Islands

Located in the Caribbean, Saint John is one of the smallest of the three main United States Virgin Islands. It is home to a pristine national park that covers over two-thirds of the island. It also has a number of historical sites and great hiking trails.

Aside from the park, Saint John offers visitors an abundance of beaches and snorkeling sites. You can also visit the Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument, a site that expanded the National Park’s environmental protections to the undersea world.

The best way to get around the island is to rent a car or Jeep. There are also several companies that offer watersports tours. You can also go on an organized tour of the Annaberg Plantation.

There is a lot to see and do in the Virgin Islands. This is especially true in St. John, where you can explore a vast 5,500-acre national park and go snorkeling in nearby coral reefs.

The Virgin Islands are known for their rum-based cocktails. One of the most famous alcoholic beverages on the island is ‘Painkiller,’ a sweet rum drink made with coconut cream, pineapple juice, and nutmeg.

Another interesting site to see in the Virgin Islands is the Cinnamon Bay Plantation, a former sugar factory. There are information panels, defunct working sites, and a guardhouse.

The Reef Bay Trail is a great hike on St. John, especially if you are into snorkeling. This 2.5-mile trail begins at sea level and climbs back up. It is a strenuous hike but offers a variety of sights.
