At the center of the building is an acoustically shaped shell with a central core that allows for free circulation. Two symmetric corridors lead to the Main Concert Hall lobby. One is an elevated footbridge, which provides access to the building’s main entrance.

In addition to its performance facilities, the Palau also has a restaurant. Located on the top floor, the Contrapunto les Arts features innovative cuisine. It combines local produce with international dishes.

The Palau is also home to the Valencia Community Orchestra. Its programme includes orchestral and choral concerts, dance, and jazz performances. El Palau de les Arts hosts a variety of concerts, theatrical productions, and open-air performances.

Other than the gigantic IMAX screen, the other big attraction is the “Zero Gravity” interactive exhibition. This exhibit actually takes visitors through the three stages of a launch.

Other cool science-related features of the complex include the interactive Space Academy and the Whispering Galleries. The latter is the newest addition to the museum and features a small skeleton of a dinosaur, a brontosaurus, and a chick hatching mannequin.

If you’re planning a trip to Valencia, Spain, it’s a good idea to take a look at the city’s most renowned landmark, the City of the Arts and Sciences. This large-scale urban recreation center was largely designed by architect Santiago Calatrava.

The site for the museum is midway between the old city and the coastal district of Nazaret. It aims to link the two parts of the city with linearity and green space. In addition to its museums, the site hosts exhibitions and cultural events.

The initial project included a planetarium and science museum. After several years of planning, the building opened its doors to the public in 1998.

When the construction of the Hemesferic began, it was intended to be a place for Valencia residents to relax, learn, and entertain. It was also envisioned to be a venue for visitors from all over the world.

Currently, the Hemisferic is used for conferences and shows. The theatre features IMAX 3D films. There is also a digital animation. Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets online or at the gate.

Also in the City of the Arts and Sciences are Oceanografic, the largest aquarium in Europe. Aside from the three large-scale buildings, there is a promenade, an arcade, and a landscaped vantage point.

CaixaForum Valencia

CaixaForum Valencia is a new centre dedicated to science and culture. Located in the Agora building of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciencies de Valencia, it features two exhibition halls and will host exhibitions focusing on various scientific disciplines, as well as workshops, concerts, and cultural events. The centre also includes a restaurant, bookstore, and educational and family spaces.

The design of CaixaForum Valencia was done by Enric Ruiz-Geli. He is a professor at Virginia Tech and the director of Cloud 9 studio. His design features an organic shape resembling a rib cage, with a glass roof along the spine.

CaixaForum Valencia is expected to open in June 2022. There are currently plans to host music festivals, debates on current affairs, and art exhibitions. It will also feature an auditorium with a capacity of around 300 people. As well, there is a CaixaForum Familia educational space for children.

The centre will have a total of 10,000 square metres of usable space for knowledge dissemination, including the two exhibition halls. In addition, there is an auditorium, a family and educational space, a bookshop, and a restaurant.

In terms of sustainability, the CaixaForum centre will aim to improve environmental sustainability. To this end, the structure of the facility resembles a rib cage, with large skylights oriented to the four cardinal points. This reduces energy consumption.

In addition, the centre will have an administration complex for staff. Moreover, the facility will have a permanent collection, including works by Georg Baselitz, Anish Kapoor, and Andreas Gursky.

Ultimately, the project will aim to promote science, culture, and social cohesion. Through its numerous activities, the facility will serve as a benchmark for the dissemination of culture, promoting access to knowledge.
